Steering Geometry 1

1)

i.Caster = 5.37 degree

ii.Mechanical trail = - 9.41 mm Left side axis considered

iii.Kingpin inclination angle = 10 degrees

iv.Scrub radius = 32.35mm

v.Kingpin lateral offset or spindle length = 85.92 mm

2)

Lateral Force (Fy ) = 2000

Pneumatic Trail ( PT) = 25mm

Mechanical Trail (MT ) = 9.4mm

Restoring Moment = Lateral force * ( PT + MT) =

2000*(25+9.4)

= 68.8 kN

3. Hardpoint recommendation to change the sign of the scrub radius
- Move the UCA Knuckle Ball Joint away from the wheel axis or LCA Knuckle Ball Joint towards the wheel axis so that the slope (tilt) of the line 5-2 increases and we obtain an intersection on the other side of the axis
