Sketch a G+1 residential plan according to Vaastu Shastra and Calculation of Loads as per IS code

#STRUCTURAL DRAWINGS TO BE PROVIDED TO SITE FOR CONSTRUCTION

THESE DRAWINGS SHOW THE SUPPORT SYSTEM OF THE BUILDING LIKE HOW THE BUILDING IS STANDING, WHAT ARE ITS STRUCTURAL COMPONENTS, WHAT IS THE STRENGTH OF THE BUILDING AND HOW BEAMS, COLUMNS, STAIRS, SLABS ETC. ARE CONNECTED AND THUS LIKE.

# ASSUMING

All columns are 300mm x 300mm

All beams are 300mm x 450mm

Slab thickness if 125mm

height of the wall is 4.5m

Aim: To calculate the loads acting on the structure

Procedure:

  • Dead Load
  • Live Load
  • Wind load if the height of the building is above 10m
  • Seismic load if it's under critical zone in the code

DEAD LOAD ON THE STRUCTURE:

Column= 0.3*0.3*4.5*25 = 10.125 Kn

Beam = 0.3*0.45*1*25 = 3.375 Kn/m

Slab = 0.125*25*1*1 = 3.125 Kn/m

Brick wall = 4.5*0.23*20 = 20.7 Kn/m

LIVE LOAD ON THE STRUCTURE:

As per IS -875 Part-2, for residential building:

Living/Dining - 2Kn/m^2

Kitchen - 2Kn/m^2

Bedroom - 2Kn/m^2

Bathroom - 2Kn/m^2

Storeroom - 2Kn/m^2

Terrace - 3Kn/m^2
