Sketch a G+1 residential plan according to Vaastu Shastra and Calculation of Loads as per IS code
Aim & Introduction Of The Project :
To sketch a G+1 floor residential plan, according to Vaastu Shastra, and list down the names of the structural drawings required to be provided to the site for construction.
Let us know about Vastu shastra. Vastu shastra is the ancient indian science of architecture and acts as a guideline to design your home in the way that enhances positive energy. Our nature is abundant with powerhouses of energy sources like the sun, wind, moon, water, earth and fire. Effect of sunrays, flow of winds , pull of earth's magnetic field and the other such cosmic energies. Agood home needs to radiate the right kind of energy.A person dwelling in a house comes under the influence of a specific energy field which comes under the influence of specific energy field.
As most of the data is not available in given project so we have to assume some data which is as follows,
Column size = 0.3 x 0.3 m
Beam size = 0.3 x 0.3 m
Slab Thickness = 0.125 m
Slab Size = 10 x 17.5 m
Size of the wall = 3 m
Thickness of wall = 0.23 m
Wall Height = 3.5 m
Now Draw the room location as per vaastu shastra. For placing the rooms as per vaastu shastra we are following the given below rules :-
- Shape: Rooms should be preferably be square or rectangle
- Room Basics: Rooms should be airy, well lit, bright and clean.
- Home center: Center of the house should be an empty space.
- Stairs : Staircase to be in shouth-west & north east to be avoided.
- KItchen & Dinning Table: South-east is the best & North east to be avoided for Kitchen. Dinning space should be near the kitchen and not near the main door.
- Toilet: Nort-west is the best & nort east to be avoided.
- Master Bedroom: Shouth-west is the best. Avoid bedroom in north east & south-east zone.
- Living Room: North-west is the best.East, north also favourable Living room should be cluster free and its the place where the family spends most time together.
- Entrance : Main door should be stronger and bigger than other doors . Main door should open inward .The main door should be constructed in a way to ensure that when you step out, you face the North,East or north-east Direction.
- Pooja Room: East or North-east part is perfect for pooja room.
- Study Room: North-east , East or West direction is ideal.
Calculation of dead load , live load and wind load.
Dead load calculation:
Column size = 0.3 x 0.3 m
Quantity of column = 18 NOS
nos of floors = 2 nos
As we know the unit weight of RCC = 25KN/m^3
So the dead load for column = 0.3 x 0.3 x 3.5 x 2x 18 x 25 = 283.5 KN
Beam size = 0.3 x 0.3 m
As we know the unit weight of RCC = 25KN/m^3
So the dead load for beam = 0.3 x 0.3 x 25 = 2.25 KN/m
Slab Thickness = 0.125 m
Slab Size = 10 x 17.5 m
Quantity of slab = 2 nos
As we know the unit weight of RCC = 25KN/m^3
So dead load pf Slab = 0.125 x 10 x 17.5 x 2 x 25 = 1093 KN
Wall Height = 3.5 m
Thickness of wall = 0.23 m
As we know the unit weight of Brick work = 20 KN/m^3
So the dead load of wall = 3.5 x 0.23 x 20 = 16.1 KN/m
Live load calculation:
We have the total room area for ground floor = 120 sqm
for First floor = 155 sqm
So as per code IS 875 part 2 for all residential house , room and toilets = 2KN/sqm
So the total live load in room area = (120+155) x 2 = 550 KN
We have the total terrace and store area = 177 sqm
So as per code IS 875 part 2 for all residential house , terrace & store room = 3KN/sqm
So the total live load in terrace & store area = 177 x 3 = 531 KN
So the total live load = 550+531 = 1081 KN
Wind Load Calculation : As building height is less then 10 mtr so no need for wind load calculation.
