Sketch a G+1 residential plan according to Vaastu Shastra and Calculation of Loads as per IS code

Sketch a G+1 floor residential plan, according to Vaastu Shastra, and list down the names of the structural drawings required to be provided to the site for construction.

PLAN

All walls are 230 mm thick, Columns are 230 x 450 mm, Beams are 230 x 500 mm and slab thickness 200 mm. Floor height is 3m (Excluding slab thickness).

DEAD LOAD AT GROUND LEVEL & 1ST FLOOR

WALL

Height of floor is 3m, the wall load/dead load on plinth beams are as follows
Height of wall = 3 - 0.50 = 2.5 m
Wall thickness = 0.23 m 
Density of brick masonry wall = 20 KN/m2
Wall load = 2.50 x 0.23 x 20 = 11.73 KN/m

BEAMS

Unit weight of reinforced concrete = 25 KN/m3
Beam size = 230 x 500
Dead load of beams = 0.23 x 0.50 x 25 = 2.875 KN/m

SLABS 

Unit weight of reinforced concrete = 25 KN/m3
Slab thickness = 200 mm
Dead load of slab = 0.20 x 25 = 5 KN/m2

COLUMNS

All columns are of size (230 x 450) mm
Heigh of column = 3 + 0.20 + 3 + 0.20 = 6.40 m
Heigh of column at roof = 6.40 + 3 + 0.20 = 9.60 m 
Dead load of column at height 6.4 = 0.23 x 0.45 x 6.3 x 25 = 16.56 KN
Dead load of column at height 9.6 = 0.23 x 0.45 x 9.60 x 25 = 24.84 KN

LIVE LOAD

As per IS-875 part 2, for residential building live loads are as follows:

Living/Dining = 2 KN/m2
Kitchen = 2 KN/m2
Bedroom = 2 KN/m2
Bathroom = 2 KN/m2
Terrace = 2 KN/m2
Balcony = 2 KN/m2

WIND LOAD 

As per IS 875 part 3, wind loads can only be calculated for a struccture of height 10m and above structure is 9.6 in height. Therefore wind load are not aplicable

The drawings to be submitted for above plan

• Architectural drawings - centre line, site plan, working plan, section plan, elevation drawing
• Structural drawings - excavation drawing, column layout, plinth beam layout, roof beam & shuttering layout, roof slab layout, footing, plinth beam and slab reinforcemnet drawing
• Electrical drawings
• Plumbing drawings
