Sketch a G+1 residential plan according to Vaastu Shastra and Calculation of Loads as per IS code
Sketch a G+1 floor residential plan, according to Vaastu Shastra, and list down the names of the structural drawings required to be provided to the site for construction.
Also, assume the sizes of the structural elements (Column, Beam, Slab, etc.,) and accordingly calculate the individual corresponding loads from the members as per IS code.
Answer –
Structural Drawings required for construction are-
- Line Drawing – The distances of the columns are marked based on the grid line.
- Footing and Column Layout with reinforcement details – It shows the foundation dimension along with reinforcement details.
- Column schedule with reinforcement details -
- Plinth beam layout with reinforcement details
- First floor beam layout with reinforcement details
- First Floor Slab layout with reinforcement details
- Terrace Slab Drawings
- Staircase Drawing
Assuming the Sizes of All columns as marked in the drawing of size – 300x300 mm and length as 3.0 m and size of the beams as 300x500 mm (The sizes of room as given in attached drawing in meter)
Assume Slab thickness as 150 mm
- The dead load of each column will be = .3x.3x3x25 = 6.75 KN
- The dead load of the beam would be = 0.3x0.5x Length of Beam x 25 = in KN
Load Calculation on Slabs area as-
- Living Room –
Dead Load – 5 x 4 x 0.15x25 = 75 KN
Live Load – 5x4x2 = 40 KN
- Bathroom –
Dead Load – 3x2x.15x25 = 22.5 KN
Live Load – 3x2x2 = 12 KN
- Master Bedroom
Dead Load- 4x6x.15x25 = 90 KN
Live Load – 4x6x2 = 8 KN
- Pooja Room
Dead Load – 2.5x3x.15x25 = 28.13 KN
Live Load – 2.5x3x2 = 15 KN
- Dinning Hall
Dead Load – 4.5x3x.15x25 = 50.63 KN
Live Load – 4.5x3x2 = 27 KN
- Kitchen
Dead Load – 4x4x.15x25 = 60 KN
Live Load – 4x4x2 = 32 KN
- Passage/corridor-
Dead Load – (2x4 + 5x3) x .15 x 25 = 86.25 KN
Live Load – (2x4 + 5x3) x 3 = 69 KN
