Project - Analysis of a practical automotive wiring circuit

1. Battery , Generator , Starter ,Distributor,Ignition Coil ,Current & Voltage Regulator ,Foot Selector Switch,Ammeter,Fuse

2.

Battery it is a electrochemical device used to store chemical energy and converts it to electrical energy.

WORKING:

  • The chemical reactions in a battery involve the flow of electrons from one material (electrode) to another, through an external circuit.
  • The flow of electrons provides an electric current that can be used to do work.
  • To balance the flow of electrons, charged ions also flow through an electrolyte solution that is in contact with both electrodes.
  • Different electrodes and electrolytes produce different chemical reactions that affect how the battery works, how much energy it can store and its voltage.

Generator

it is a machine that convert mechanical energy into electrical energy. in automobile they are also called as alternators too

WORKING

  • The engine spins pulleys under the bonnet, which turns the pulley on the alternator and creates energy.

Breaker

A circuit breaker is an electrical switch designed to protect an electrical circuit from damage caused by overcurrent or short circuit.

3. Power = 12*10 = 120 Watt

Power = Voltage * Current

Voltage is 12 V

500 = 12 * Current

Current = 500/12 = 41.67 A

Capacity = Current * Time

Capacity = 41.67 * 1hr = 41.67

Capacity is 41.67 Ah

5. Parallel connections are

  • GENERATOR
  • CURRENT AND VOLTAGE REGULATOR

    Both components are connected in parallel because they have the same differential of potential voltage across their ends.

6.Series connections are

  • Battery and startor

Starter and battery connected in series because same current Flows through them.
