Project - Analysis of a practical automotive wiring circuit

1. major elements in above automative wiring diagram:-

battery,generator,,starter, fuse

2.purpose and working of three elements:-

a)battery- it is used to supply power (DC voltage)

working-

> A battery works on the oxidation and reduction reaction of an electrolyte with metals. When two dissimilar metallic substances, called electrode, are placed in a diluted electrolyte, oxidation and reduction reaction take place in the electrodes respectively depending upon the electron affinity of the metal of the electrodes. As a result of the oxidation reaction, one electrode gets negatively charged called cathode and due to the reduction reaction, another electrode gets positively charged called anode.

b)fuse- A car fuse is used as a component that safeguards an automobile's electrical system

working-

> fuse is a small device, thin conductor designed to melt and separate into two pieces for the purpose of breaking a circuit in the event of excessive current. A circuit breaker is a specially designed switch that automatically opens to interrupt circuit current in the event of an overcurrent condition.

c)horn- it is used to warn other regarding danger on the road.

working-

> Squeezing the bulb forces air through a steel reed located in the throat of the horn, making it vibrate, producing a single note. The flaring horn matches the acoustic impedance of the reed to the open air, radiating the sound waves efficiently, making the sound louder.

3) load= 10A

fuse rating should be = 15A

4) load=500W

voltage= 500/12= 41.66

capacitance= 41.66* 1hr= 41.66* 60= 2500

5)

two elements which are connected parallel to each other-

plastic light,parking light

these two are in parallel to make the voltage same in the circuit

6)

two elements which are connected in series-

starter,fuse,ammeter

these components are connected in series to make the current same across the circuit
