Project - Analysis of a practical automotive wiring circuit
Question 1 :
Solution :
The Major elements are
1. Battery
2. Starter
3. Generator
4. Current and voltage regulator.
5. Fuse
6.ignition coil
7. Breaker.
Question 2 :
Solution
1. Battery :
To provide the power supply to the entire circuit.
Working principle :
It converts the chemical energy stored in a medium to electrical energy by the flow of electrons from cathode to anode.
2. Starter:
It is used to start the motor of a system.
Working principle:
When we start the ignition switch then the electro magnet engaged with that pushes out a rod that connects with the pinion which tends to the rotation of the flywheel and starts the motor.
3. Generator :
The generator is the device which recharges the battery of the system while functioning of the system through its conversion of mechanical energy into electrical energy.
Working principle:
It works under the principle of electromagnetic induction, whenever the coils rotates in the presence of uniform magnetic field the current will be induced on it.
Question 3:
Solution :
The fuse rating should be more than the load rating of a circuit ideally it should be more than 120% to 130%. so we should go for the next available current rating above 10 A is 15 A. So we need to use 15A fuse for the system.
Question 4 :
Solution :
It depends on the uniform time span of power interruption , assuming the power will be turned back on with in an hour maximum then the capacity of a battery is 500 whr. When converting it into Ahr then the capacity Is 500/12 = 41.66 Ahr. Ideally the battery capacity should be more than that, it might be 50A hr.
Question 5:
Solution :
The elements that connected in parallel are
1.horn switch
2.scalco beam
To keep the constant voltage between the battery and the load, and to avoid the unnecessary usage of power and to improve the battery life.
Question 6:
Solution :
1.light switch
2. Beam light
To keep the usage of constant current between the load and the battery of a circuit.
