Project - Analysis of a practical automotive wiring circuit
Answer 1) The major Components are as follows
1) Battery
2) Self Starter
3) Ignition Coil for spark plug for petrol engine
4) Distributor, for distributing the power to the six spark plug's according to the firing order of the engine so that the engine runs
5) Light switch
6) Head Lamp
7) Tail Lamp
8) Ignition Switch
9) Horn
10) Wirring Harness
11) Generator/Alternator
12) Current and voltage Regulator
Answer 2) The three elements purpose are as follows
1) Battery- Storage of energy used for the pupose of starting the engine and running the engine by powering the sparks plugs with constant voltage and current and also the lighting system of the vehicle
2) Starter- The starter starts the engine by giving a intial rotation to the engine enough to keep the engine running with its fuel. The intial rotation gives enough inertia to the flywheel of the engine so that it will able to overcome the power stroke of the four stroke engine.
3) Generator- Genertator charges the battery of the vehicles when the vehicle runs. The current voltage regulator ensures a constant current is supplied to the battery at a designated voltage irrespective of the engine RPM. The current and voltage depends on the capcity of the battery.
Answer 3) If the total load is 10amps then the fuse rating should be 10Amps.
Answer 4) Power= 500Watt which means if battery voltage is 12volts, then power in watt-hour is 500*60=30000Watthrs i.e 30000/12 =2500Amphours, Hence the battery capcity will be 2500Amph at 12 volts.
Answer 5) The lights are coonected parralel to each other because all the lights operate at same voltage.
The ingition/Spark plugs are connected parralel to each other because they also operate at same voltage.
Answer 6) The ampmeter is connected in serries because it measures the total current flowing though the syatem. The fuse is also connected in series so that it takes the load of the circuit as a whole. Then the ignition switch is also connected in series with the starter and the battery.
