Project - Analysis of a practical automotive wiring circuit
1. Battery, Starter, Ignition coil, breaker, distributor, Generator, Current & voltage regulator, fuse, Fuel gauge, Ammeter , switches these are all the major elements of above wiring diagram
2. 1. Battery:
Purpose:
It will stores the energy as direct current and gives it back when ever required
working:
Inside battery cell there will be two electrodes cathode(+), Anode (-) and inbetween electrolyte will be there, so due to chemical reaction flow of electrons will flow through The external circuits from one electrode to another electrode, so the flow of electrons will gives current this is the working of battery cell
2. Generator:
purpose:
Purpose of generator is to generate the power form mechanical energy to electrical energy
working:
In generator also same as motor part will be there like fields (magnet), armature, brushes, commutator. how gererator will produce power means inbetween magnetic pole armature will be there, when armature rotates in between Field electromagnetic induction will create, so that we can get power through that.
3. Fuse;
Purpose:
To protect the object from short circuit or excessive current
working:
When the excessive current pass the heat will generated, so the fuse melts due to low melting point of the element and it opens the circuit, so that current will not flow to the connected objects.
3. For calculating Fuse rating
Fuse rating=current x 1.25
= 10A x 1.25
= 12.5A
If we go for standard fuse rating based on result it will 15A, so fuse rating for the 10A load from battery is 15A.
4. Given:
power= 500W
To find:
voltage and battery capacity
solution:
as given we consider Volt as 12V
power= V x I
500= 12 x I
I= 500/12=41.67A
So, Current required for 500w power is 41.67Amps, so let us assume that time 1hours
then current X time will gives battery capacity
= 41.67x1=41.67Ah
So battery capacity required for 500w power and 1 hour time will be 41.67Ah, but alway go 30% extra from requirement, so we can go 50Ah battery capacity
volt=power/battery capacity=500/50=10V
So, volt will be 10V
5. 1. Horn is Connected in Prallel connection, because if we press horn button simenteneously will both horn will sound if we connected in parallel, so that is the reason it is connected in parallel
2. Head lamp also connected in Prallel connection, because the current flow will split and will get full brightness of lamp and also if one head lamp burns and another one will work if it is connected in parallel.
6. 1. Fuse is connected in series, when excessive current comes above fuse rating it will not allow to flow current to devices that is the reson it is connected in series
2. horn button and horn are connected in series, because then only we can horn both at simenteneously when press the horn button.
