Project - Analysis of a practical automotive wiring circuit

1)A)

1.battery 2.starter 3.ammeter 4.fuse 5.regulator 6.generator 7.breaker 8.distributor 9.coil 10.junction block 11.horn 12.lamp and light 12.tail stop 13.switches 14.buttons 15.tank unit

2)A)

1)Battery: -battery is to power the starter motor to start the engine.

-provides current to all the electric components in a automotive.

2)Starter: -starter is to ignite or rotate the engine untill it works on itself, once the engine starts to rotate by itself stsrter is disengaged and the combustion process happens.

3)Ammeter: -ammeter is a current measuring instrument in the circuit i.e the flow of electrons.

3)A) Fuse rating is generally 130-150% of the load that is flowing. here the load is given as 10A so the fuse rate is between 130-150% of the 10A load that is 13-15A. As 13A fuse is not availabe let's consider the fuse rate as 15A.

4)A)Load= 500W, Battery voltage= 12V

we can take the battery capacity in terms of watts as 500Wh.

Dividing Wh with V will give the Ah or the battery capacity interms of ampere.

Battery capacity= 500/12= 41.6Ah.

Therefore the battery voltage is 12V and the battery capacity is 41.6Ah.

5)A) While look into the circuit all the compomets in terms of battery comes under the parallel connection except the switch ans the starter.

They connected is parallel to make the flow of voltage even to all and the split the current generated to all the components as their requirements, some might need more current and some might need less and some might not need any flow of current, so parallel is the prefered connection.

parallel connection all makes sure that any faut iin the circuit doesnot effect all but inly those coming in thhat perticular circuit which makes working of all other in the normal manner.

But while looking further into the circiut the components that has to function in a sequel are connected in series to ensure the ease in flow.

6)A)The series connection coming in here interms of the battery are the switch and the starter.

The starter is connectd in series to ensure that the whole current from the battery initially wile starting the car comes to the started to ensure ease in starting the vehicle.
