Project - Analysis of a practical automotive wiring circuit

1.) Identify each of the major elements in the above automotive wiring diagram.

ANS: As we can see in the diagram the major elements to complete the circuit without any problem are battery , breaker, generator , starter , ignition coil

2.) Identify each of the major elements in the above automotive wiring diagram.

ANS: I would opt some of the key elements in the circuit likely to be

a) battery

b) breaker

c) ignition coil

* Coming to battery we know that its the second heart of the car out of which the electric elements work it helps in working of various systems in the car which includes lighting, music , electronics and chips included in the automotive system

* Nextly coming to breaker its a safety equipment for the elctric voltage fluctuations plays a prominent role as the name suggests it breaks the current flow if anything goes wrong in the circuit.

* Next up ignition coil , without this the car wont start as its the most important element in the initiation of engine functioning

3) If the total load is 10A from battery, what should be the fuse rating?

Ans: As the fuse is to regulate excess load it always should be more than the mentioned load so as we know now it has to be more than 10A . So, we can take 15A fuse into consideration or above.

4) If 500W is the load, what is the voltage and capacity of battery you recommend ?

Ans: As we know

p = V * I

Lets Consider, two battery voltages 12v and 24v for automotive usage

for the load given we would recommend 12v battery 100ah capacity

4) Identify any two elements which are connected parallel to each other. Why they are connected in parallel?

Ans: The examples which we can see as the parallel circuit in the given automotive wiring above :

As we know and can see that the automotive lights such as the domelights , parking lights and the tail lights are the best example as if one light goes wrong the another wont as it is connected to the parallel connection through which the current flows in many paths and also the voltmeter is in parallel too.

5) Identify any two elements which are connected in series. Why they are connected in series?

Ans: The ignition circuit and the breaker circuit and ammeter are the examples of the series and they should be in series if not the current fluctuations and supply cant be recognised through circuit.
