Project - Analysis of a practical automotive wiring circuit
1) The major elements in the abouve diagram are,
* Battery
* Fuse
* Generator
* Distributor
* Ammeter
* Junction Load
* Breaker
* Starter
* Foot selector switch
2) Generator : A machine which converts mechanical energy into electrical energy which is also called as Dynamo.
The electricity produced by generator can be used to for transmission, distribution over power lines to domestic, commercial & industrial customers.
Battery : It ia device that converts chemical energy contained within it's active materials directly into electrical energy by menas of an electrochemical oxidation - reduction (redox) reaction. This type of reaction involves the transfer of electrons from one material to another via an electric circuit.
Fuse : It is a safety device, the fuse breaks the circuit if a fault in an appliance causes too much current flow. This protects the wiring and the appliance if something goes wrong. The fuse contains a piece of wirw that melts easily when too much current flows, it thereby stopping or interupting the current.
Once a fuse has operated it is an open circuit, and must be replaced or rewired depending on it's type.
3) The fuse rating is more than the maximum load of the appliance to avoid the short circuits or damage of appliance due to flow of load we must maintain the fuse rating 25% greater than the total load. So that the fuse rating is to be Approxiamtely 13 - 15 A for above circuit.
4) p= 500 w
Capacity = load * time
= 500 * 24 = 12000 Wh
Amp-hour = watt hour / volts
= 12000/12 =1000 Ah.
5) On review found generator with current voltage & regulator are connected in parllel if two or more components are connected in parllel have same differential potential voltage across thier ends.
6) On review found battery & starter connected in series because same current flows through them.
