Project - Analysis of a practical automotive wiring circuit

1) The major elements in the above automotive wiring diagram:-

1) Battery- stores electric charge and generates a constant voltage.

2) Starter- that control the use of electrical power to equipment.

3) Ignition coil- Generating thousands of volts, the ignition coil sends energy in the form of an electric spark to the spark.

4) Breaker- to protect an electrical circuit from damage caused by overcurrent or short circuit.

5) Junction block- it provides a convenient point for all wiring in a vehicle.

6) Generator

7) Distributor

8) Ammeter

9) Fuse

10) Gas tank

11) Foot selector switch

12) Plate light

13) current and voltage regulator

14) Fuel on/off

15) Tail stop

16) Beam lt

17) Horn button

18) Dome light switch

19) Sealed beam

20) Dome light

21) Parking lamp

2) a) Battery

urpose- to provide an electric current to electric powered starting motor which is turn starts the chemical powered internal combution engine that actually propels the vehicle.

working - to stores chemical energy and converts it to electrical energy. the chemical reaction occuring in the cells of battery results in the flow of electricity in a circuit.

b) Generator

purpose- to charge the battery and to power the electrical system when its engine is running.

working- The electric generator works on the principle of electromagnetic induction. Electricity is generated by rotating a coil inside a magnetic field.

c) Junction block

purpose- provides a convenient point for all wiring in a vehicle.

working- it integrates the whole car's fuse, circuit breaker, relay and so on. It is the vehicle electronic circuit control center.
3) because the fuse rating should lie somewhere between these two values to allow normal operation but blow on overload. example, 10 amps x 150% = 15 amps , 15A fuse should be chosen .
4) power= 500w, voltage=12v
current (i)=p/v =500/12= 41.6 amp
battery capacity in one hour= 41.6 amph.
5) In parallel - plate light, parking light . they are connected in parallel , if one device is destroy but other device is safely work.
6) In series - fuse, starter . they are connected in series, fuse is protected from over current. starter is connected in series to the motor's armature winding and restricts the current to an acceptable level.
