Challenge

Project - Analysis of a practical automotive wiring circuit

Answer

1. MAJOR ELEMENTS

a) generator

b) current & voltage regualtor

c) starter

d) fuse

e) junction block

f) tail stop

g)breaker

h) ignition coil & switch battery

i) battery

j) ammeter

2.

a) Fuse

Fuse is an electrical safety device which is used to provide overcurrent protection of an circuit

when the limited current of an electric circuit exceeds the limit then the fuse in a circuit breaks the current to protect the

circuit. Fuse is most probably used as a low melting power material.

The following are the types of fuse used,

i) cartridge type

ii) rewirable type

iii) high repturing capacity type.

b) Generator

Generator is a device used to convert mechanical energy into electrical energy.

Working :-

when armature rotates rapdily inside the horseshoe type magnet then electromagnetic induction occures to produce current.

c) Battery

Battery is a collections of cell, based on our requirements cell is connected in series as well as in parallel to obtain required

voltage and current, which stores chemical energy and converts into electrical energy

working :-

the chemical reaction in a battery involve the flow of electrons from one to another materials, through external circuit current

as a work

3. Fuse

Fuse rating is current which can break the fuse. where load is 10A so we have to go more than the load so the fuse rating is 10.1amps

4. I can go for 12.6 volt battery also the battery capacity = load / voltage

= 500/12.6

= 39.6 = 40 Ah.

5. Parallel Connection

Generator with Current & voltage regulator is connected in parallel

current & voltage regulators are used to maintain constant current & voltage to the circuit which is generate from the generator.

6. Series connection

Battery with ammeter is connected in series

ammeter aims to calculate the current passing through the circuit from battery / current regulator.
