INTRODUCTION: The Transmission, which transmits the power from engine to the wheels through the shafts. It consists of 4 types mainly, they are

Manual transmission

Continous variable transmission

Semi-automatic transmission

Automatic transmission

A continuously variable transmission, or CVT, is a type of automatic transmission that provides more useable power, better fuel economy and a smoother driving experience than a traditional automatic transmission. The CVT is a system that makes it possible to vary steplession ratio without interruption of the torque flow. Therefore an infinite number of ratios (between the value) are possible.

A CVT draws top engine power, which gives drivers quicker acceleration than standard automatic transmissions. Because of their greater ability to control the engine speed range, CVTs produce fewer emissions. CVTs are also lighter weight than traditional automatic transmissions.

STUDY 1

case1:-

By using simulink model of CVT consists of Signal builder, generic engine, motion sensors, vehicle transmission

After performing the study1 case1 we get the following results the results are shown in below figures

The above figure shows the signal builder configuration

The above figure shows the engine torque speed curve

The above figure shows the CVT shaft speed curve

Case2 : the case 2 study of the system is shown in below The below figure shows the CVT block of the system

the below figure shows the vehical body

The output of the system is shown below

Study: 2

case 1:

The below figure shows the model of the study 2 case 1 Baja ATV model

The below figure shows the out put of the study2 case1

The below figure shows the cvt shaft speed

Case 2:

The below figure shows the out put of the case 2 of study 2

The below figure shows the cvt shaft speed of the study 2 case 2

Conclusion :

Hence we have sucessfully analised the 4 different cases of the BAJA ATV WITH CVT and recorded the outputs
