Project Report:-

Study of Baja ATV model without dashboard:

1] A continuously variable transmission (CVT), is a type of automatic transmission that provides more useable power, better fuel economy and a smoother driving experience than a traditional automatic transmission.

2] By using a simulink model of CVT consists of ;

i) Signal Builder,

ii) Generic Engine,

iii) Motion sensors,

iv) Vehicle Transmission,

v) Vehicle body,

vi) Tyres,

vii) Solver configuretion, etc...

3] The CVT subsystem includes;

i) Transmission blocks,

ii) Input and output shaft,

iii) Inertia and motion sensors.

4] The vehicle body subsystem includes;

i) Vehicle body block,

ii) Double brake and tyres.

5] The initial engine speed is given as 2100 rpm, mechanical rotation for driven pully and driver pully as 0.8 & 0.7 respectively.

6] The mass of the vehicleas 250kg and 2 axles which connects 4 wheel accordingly.

Description:

a] The signal builder is used as input for brake, throttle and gear ratio.

b] Brake input is maintained 0 for overall simulations.

c] The throttle input is given as 0.3 for 20 secs and increase to 1min for overall simulaions.

d] The throttle valve is mainly to control the flow or amount of fuel into the engine, if the throttle valve increases the flow increases to the IC engine which in turns increases the power of the engine.

e] The gear ratio is maintained as 2.3 for 5 secs and linearly decreases to 1.8 secs and maintained constant for overall simulations.

Run the module and note down the scope values.

Description:

a] The Baja ATV model with dashboard consist of throttle meter and brake input in the dashboard instead of giving input through signal builder.

b] Rest of the blocks and subsystems are common as the Baja ATV without dashboard.

c] The main concept of using the dashboard is to study the results by varying the input of brake and throttle , which shows that the velocity and speed of the engine.

d] The gear ratio is maintaines for 2.3 for 5 secs and literally decreases for 1.8 and maintained constant for the remaining simulations.

e] As the brake input varies from 0 - 0.5, the velocity and speed decreases accordingly.

f] By increases the throttle the, the velocity and speed of the engine & shaft increases.

Run the module and note down the scope values.

Project Report:-

Study of Baja ATV model using lookup chart:

1] A continuously variable transmission (CVT), is a type of automatic transmission that provides more useable power, better fuel economy and a smoother driving experience than a traditional automatic transmission.

2] By using a simulink model of CVT consists of ;

i) Signal Builder,

ii) Generic Engine,

iii) Motion sensors,

iv) Vehicle Transmission,

v) Vehicle body,

vi) Tyres,

vii) Solver configuretion, etc...

3] The CVT subsystem includes;

i) Lookup table,

ii) Transmission blocks,

iii) Input and output shaft,

iv) Inertia and motion sensors.

4] The vehicle body subsystem includes;

i) Vehicle body block,

ii) Double brake and tyres.

5] The initial engine speed is given as 2100 rpm, mechanical rotation for driven pully and driver pully as 0.8 & 0.7 respectively.

6] The mass of the vehicleas 250kg and 2 axles which connects 4 wheel accordingly.

Description:

a] The lookup table is an array of data that maps input values to output values, thereby approximating a mathematical function.

b] Given a set of input values, a lookup operation retrives the corresponding output values from the table.

c] If the lookup table does not explitly define the input values, the simulink can estimate an output value using interpolation, extrapolation or rounding where;

. An interpolation is a process of estimating values that lies between known data points.

. An extrapolation is a process of estimating values that lies beyond the range of known data points.

. A rounding is a processs for approximating a value by altering its digits according to its known rule.

d] The brake input and throttle input is given by step time, which depends on the runtime and varies accordingly.

e] By using lookup table for gear ratio which takes as input to the CVT and works accordingly to the input gear ratio and obtained the output.

f] This method is very executive which can avoid the unusual torque at the certain speed and very easy to achieve greater velocity and engine speed.

g] It works as the closed loop when the input is given by lookup table.

h] The simulink gets the input from the lookup table, and obtain the result according to the input values of the gear ratio.

i] The gear ratio varies from 2.3 to 1.8 as taken as input and output interms of velocity.

j] The maximum velocity reached as 57kmph approximately.

Thank you.
