Project 2 - V&V SW Analysis II

1.

1. Choose a Static Code Analysis Tool:
Select a static code analysis tool that supports C programming language. Some popular tools include SonarQube, Cppcheck, and Clang Static Analyzer.

2. Install and Configure the Tool:
Install the selected static code analysis tool on your local machine or integrate it into your development environment. Follow the installation and configuration instructions provided by the tool's documentation.

3. **Run the Static Code Analysis:**
Use the static code analysis tool to analyze the "Testrain.c" file. The tool will scan the code for potential issues, such as coding errors, security vulnerabilities, and code smells.

4. **Review the Analysis Results:**
Once the analysis is complete, review the generated reports and identified issues. Prioritize the issues based on their severity and impact on the code.

5. **Address the Issues:**
Work with your development team to address the identified issues. Fix any coding errors, refactor the code to improve maintainability, and apply security best practices.

6. **Reanalyze the Code (Optional):**
If necessary, re-run the static code analysis tool after making the code changes to ensure that the issues have been resolved.

7. **Generate the Code Review Report:**
Create a code review report summarizing the analysis results, including the number of issues found, their severity, and recommendations for improvement.

2.

1. **Integration Testing:**
Integration testing involves testing the interactions between different modules or components of a software system to ensure that they work together as expected when integrated. Since you have multiple .C files, you need to build and test the integrated system.

2. **Manual Test Case Design (Optional):**
Manually design integration test cases that cover different scenarios, including positive and negative test cases. Ensure that the interactions between different .C files are adequately tested.

3. **Automated Test Case Design (Optional):**
If you have access to TBExtreme or any other automated testing tool, you can use it to automatically generate test cases based on code coverage criteria. These automated test cases can cover various paths through the code.

4. **Compile and Build the Integrated System:**
Compile and build all the .C files together to create the integrated system.

5. **Execute Test Cases:**
Run the integration test cases manually or using the automated testing tool against the integrated system.

6. **Analyze Test Results:**
Review the test results to identify any integration issues, such as data inconsistencies or communication problems between modules.

7. **Address Issues:**
If any issues are found during integration testing, work with your development team to address and fix the problems.

8. **Repeat Testing (If Necessary):**
If changes are made to the integrated system, re-run the integration test cases to ensure that the issues have been resolved.
