Project 2 Thermal modeling of battery pack

Aim:- To create a model to analyze a 10 Cell series connection and its implication on the Temperature difference

Procedure:-

1. Open MATLAB Simulink and insert a Table based battery and load the battery parameters according to the datasheet provided of the battery.

2. Create a series connection of 4 such batteries with measurement port of temperature and SOC displayed

3. Connect the SOC port with a scope and display. simultaneously connect the temperature port with a convective heat transfer block and temperature sensor with Thermal reference.

4. There will be a convective heat transfer block indicating the transfer of heat among cells. after doing the needful create this into a subsystem block.

5. Use the same principle to create a two-cell and another four-cell series connection subsystem. Make sure they have a positive and negative terminal coming out of the subsystem to connect among them as a series.

6. Connect these to a thermal mass, a controlled voltage that receives a constant signal of 4.2Ah.

Diagram:-

Result:-

State of charge different sets of battery (1-4,5-6,7-10) at 300 Kelvin.

The temperature of different sets of battery (1-4,5-6,7-10) at 300 Kelvin.

State of charge different sets of battery (1-4,5-6,7-10) at 290 Kelvin.

The temperature of different sets of battery (1-4,5-6,7-10) at 290 Kelvin.

Result:-

The temperature analysis was done at two different temperatures with different values.
