Project 2 - Supply and Demand Gap Analysis

  1. Data Preparation:

    • Collect data related to supply and demand for the specific product, service, or industry you are interested in. This data could include historical sales, inventory levels, production capacity, customer demand, etc.
    • Ensure that your data is in a structured format, such as CSV, Excel, or a database table.
  2. Data Import in Power BI:

    • Open Power BI Desktop, create a new report, and import the prepared data into Power BI.
    • Use the "Get Data" option to connect to your data source and load the data.
  3. Data Visualization:

    • Create visualizations like line charts, bar charts, and area charts to represent the trends in supply and demand over time.
    • Use tables or matrix visuals to display raw data and relevant metrics.
    • Create slicers to allow interactive filtering based on specific criteria (e.g., product category, region, time period) to drill down into specific areas of interest.
  4. Supply and Demand Gap Analysis:

    • Identify the periods where supply exceeds demand (overstock) and where demand exceeds supply (shortage).
    • Calculate the gap between supply and demand for each period and represent it visually through charts or a dedicated gap analysis visualization
