Project - 2 - Meshing on the suspension Assembly

 OBJECTIVE:

To analyze and mesh the parts in the suspension assembly

  • parts with less than 5mm thickness, to be done in shell mesh
  • aove 5mm to be done solid meshing

PROCEDURE:

  • import the components, and visuvalize the assembly, try to figure out the mating parts
  • use bullioun operations and catagarize into different PID
  • it is a symmetricai type components so, it can be replicates using symmetry option

lets proceed with ones having tickness kess 5mm first,

measure the thickness and extrect the mid durface, set the meshing parametsers given for the mid- surfaces

SOLID / VOLUME MESHING:

  • SEPERATE  the parts using the set PID
  • give the surface  meshing to them
  • surface meshing  has to be closed as it bhaves as a closed boundery for the internal vomuneshng

note: here symmetrical operation can be done in any stage but prefer it only at the enf of volumeshing, if you have give this symmetry immediatly after the surface meshing, mare elements are oresent, more errors will occur , ultimatly it will take a lot of time

NOTE: other thing is , in vomume meshing mode  ANSA  will detect this as two components, and at he end more PIDS are created , maling it difficult to organize

  • go to volumes > define> auto
  • always dont take the auto, check wheter only the required components are visible the deck , if not ANSA recognize others as same and proceed the mesdhig in that property
  • if such is happened even if we tried to mesh it again ANSA will not consider it, shows over lap
  • one - by - oen define the volumes and remesh them using the rapid ot FEM

SPRING:

spring is a ID body, it has to be done in 1D meshing

CBAR>CURVE>EMEMENT SIZE>PARAMATERS> MOMENT OF INERTIA> CREATE A CBAR

to see it change as settings as elements ti visuible>solids

CONNECTIONS:

  • necessary connections are to be made betewwn the parts
  • mostly bolted connections are possible
  • use RBE2 > many node> for connections
  • seam welds are also given at the shell meshing og damper late

CONCLUSION:

  • understood the difference in shel and solid meshinf
  • whereto use shell and where to use volume meshing
  • connections of regid components
  • visualizaton of a assemble components and dividing them into different parts
  • quality criteria fixation, necessory geometrical alterations
