Project 2 - Lane National Highway Roadway Design in Civil 3D

1. Template: New File + File Tab-New-Template (before start of the Project)

Creation of Surface: Open the Survey File-Copy and paste with original coordinates in the working file (edit-Paste with original coordinates)

Prospector-Surface-Create Surface(Right Click)

Prospector-Surface-Ground Surface (name)-Defination-Contours(Right Click)-Add-OK-Select Contours

Settings-Project Name(Right Click)-Edit Drawing Settings-Enter selected coordinates-System Code- Apply-OK-Geo location-Maps Arieal

2. Alignment & Profile Design

a. Alignment:

Alignment Tab-Create Alignment by Layout-Name-Design Criteria (Design Speed 80KMPH)

Draw Alignment from "Alignment Layout Tools" window. Draw Tangent-Tangent without curve. Then insert curve between two tangents.

b. Profile:

Profile Tab-Create Profile from Layout-enter the offsets-Draw in Profile View-Enter required data in General, Stition Range, Profile with height, profile dispaly option, Data bands.

Profile Tab-Create Profile by layout-Draw Profile as per requirements.

3. Creation of Assembly & Sub Assembly:

Corridor Tab-Create Assembly-Place the dot on the required place-Click on the dot-Click on the Tool Pelette-Give Lane Width, Shoulder Width, layer thickness, Slopes and other required data in the required field and press enter-Place the rectangle curson on the dot/required location.

4. Corridor Development:

Corridor Tab-Create Corridor-Enter the required details in the window-Ok

5. Section Line & Detailed Section Line:

Section Tab-Create Sample Lines
