Project 2 Adaptive Cruise Control
NOTE:
Dear Sir/Madam,
I have attached Simulink Model file, SLDD file, Model advisor report in PDF,Code advisor report in HTML,code generation files and snapshot of results with red marks for the reference and justification.
For your Information, I have taken enable subsystem additionally for giving the enable command to other subsystems.
For Example:
If Adaptive cruise control mode is activated then only created subsystem will work. Otherwise, it will not work(It means car will run in Manual Mode).
Thank You !!
Justification in words:
Step 1: First read the objective and understand the requirements of the project.
Step 2: open Matlab software and Simulink for creation of the block diagram logic and stateflow chart.
Step 3(i): create one Simulink data dictionary and create all the signals into the SLDD file as per the mentioned requirement.
Step 3(ii): Add Data (Inputs & Outputs) for stateflow chart and define their data types also.
Step 4: Now, create all the blocks like switch, input, output & stateflow chart and connect them as per the requirement & defined SLDD file.
Step 5: Now, type Ctrl + D for compile the project.
Step 6: Now, click on model configuration parameters for set the configuration of solver (Fixed-step and 0.01s as sample time) and then run.
Step 7: Now, set the code generation parameters like system target file: ert.tlc , language:C,Enable support floating number option etc. and apply.
Step 8: click on Analysis button and create the Model advisor report in HTML or PDF format and save into any folder.
Step 9: Now, resolved the errors if any. Otherwise, Go for build process by press Ctrl + B and generate the code generation advisor report.
Step 10: Now, Generate the code by click on Code option from Menu bar -> C/C++ -> Embedded coder Quick start.
Step 11: Now, observe and examine the overall behaviour of the created project and troubleshoot it, if any error is generated.
Step 12: Cross check all the generated reports and code for the error free project.
Result of created project:
Major Project is successfully completed !!
Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) is a advance system which is integrated into vehicles to enhance driving comfort and safety. It's an advanced version of the traditional cruise control that allows cars to automatically adjust their speed in response to the traffic flow.
Working: When the ACC is engaged, sensors, such as radar or cameras, continuously scan the road ahead. These sensors detect the distance and speed of the lead vehicles. Based on this information, the ACC system can automatically accelerate or decelerate the car to maintain a safe distance from the lead vehicle.
The driver typically sets a speed and a safe following distance as a set point. If the car in front slows down or speeds up within this range, the ACC adjusts your vehicle's speed accordingly(by using PID). In some advanced systems, it can even bring the car to a complete stop and start moving again in heavy traffic, reducing the need for constant manual braking and accelerating.
However, it is important to note that Adaptive Cruise Control is not a fully autonomous driving feature. The driver is still responsible for paying attention to the road and being ready to take control of the vehicle if needed. Otherwise drive vehicle will get collide with any other car or any object.
