Battery

resistance

2 milli

ohm

Consider the battery resistance is 0.5 mOhm, delta time is 0.1 and entropic factor is 2

The battery temperature calculation using drive cycle frame the excel sheet value this file some given value is available to using the current and time to maximum and minimum value of the heat.

Given :

The Max Current and minimum current and battery hours and resistance all given parameter

Heat Generated = Joules Heat + entropy heat

Heat generated is the calculation of ohms law Voltage and current and resistance to battery.

Ohms law

V = I*R

The heat calculated is the current flowing through the resistance of the battery to battery heat is dissipated in the resistor. that time producing the heat using heat dissipated time to calculated the joules calculation.

Calculated Power is the joules heat is to the resistance of ohms heat, so calculated power

Power P = V * I^2 * R

heat H = ∫P.dt with the limits of time 0 to t

H = I^2*R*t

V = Voltage,

P = Power,

I = Current,

R = Resistance,

t = time,

H = heat.

Entropy Heat : is a scientific concept, as well as a measurable physical property, that is most commonly associated with a state of disorder, randomness, or uncertainty. The term and the concept are used in diverse fields, from classical thermodynamics, where it was first recognized, to the microscopic description of nature in statistical physics.

the heat generation due to entropy change inside a battery occurs when electro chemical reaction are performed. the entropy heat is reversible heat resulting from change in open circuit voltage with respect to temperature at two electrodes.

the battery resistance is 0.5 mOhm, delta time is 0.1 and entropic factor is 2

Battery resistance = 0.5 m Ohms

= 0.0005 Ohms.

a . The max heat generation of the battery

The calculate max current of I max :

Max heat generation = maximum joule heat + 2(maximum joule heat )

maximum current Imax = -0.896 A

time t = 1.7 sec

R = 0.0005 Ohms.

maximum joule heat = (Imax)^2*R*tmax

= (-0.896)^2*0.0005*1.7

= 0.0006823936j

Maximum heat generation = maximum joule heat + 2(maximum joule heat )

Maximum heat generation = 0.00068236j + 2(0.00068236j)

b. The SOC of the battery at 2 *104second of the battery operation :

The SOC of the battery is 2*104 second of the battery 208 second the SOC is the state of charge

SOC = Q/Qmax

the Simulink module is battery and signal builder source and SOC block is bus selector block used and scope.

BATTERY :

Implements a generic battery model for most popular battery types. Temperature and aging (due to cycling) effects can be specified for Lithium-Ion battery type.

CONTROLLER CURRENT SOURCE :

Converts the Simulink input signal into an equivalent current source. The generated current is driven by the input signal of the block. You can initialize your circuit with a specific AC or DC current. If you want to start the simulation in steady-state, the block input must be connected to a signal starting as a sinusoidal or DC waveform corresponding to the initial valu

BUS SELECTOR :

This block accepts a bus as input which can be created from a Bus Creator, Bus Selector or a block that defines its output using a bus object. The left list box shows the elements in the input bus. Use the Select button to select the output elements. The right list box shows the selections. Use the Up, Down, or Remove button to reorder the selections. Check 'Output as virtual bus's to output a single bus.

SCOPE AND POWER GUID :

Scope is the display to signal output Ans power guide Set simulation type, simulation parameters, and preferences.

SIMULINK MODUL OF SOC :

RESULT OF MATLAB SIMULINK MODEL :

CONCLUSION :

To conclusion of the result is calculate joule heat and battery SOC design of MATLAB Simulink model all the result completed.
