Project 2
OBJECTIVE
To generate a 2-D mesh With target size of 5mm for the floor panel with the following criteria
Target Element Length = 5mm
| S.N | Quality Criteria | Value |
| 1 | Aspect Ratio | 5 |
| 2 | Skewness | 45 |
| 3 | Warping | 15 |
| 4 | Taper | 0.5 |
| 5 | Min. Length | 2mm |
| 6 | Max. Length | 8mm |
| 7 | Min angle Quad | 45 |
| 8 | Max angle Quad | 135 |
| 9 | Min angle Tria | 20 |
| 10 | Max angle Tria | 120 |
| 10 | Tria % | 10 |

PROCEDURE
- The floorpanel.iges file is imported in hypermesh using import geometry panel then the file type is defined as IGES and imported
- Then the model is been examined in way of reducing the meshing time and features that should be defeatured from this observation i can conclude that 30% of the model is actually symmetric in global y-axis from the below figure there were lot of pinholes and punches with the dia of 1mm and length is >2mm which doesn't cause major fluctuation in the result so those pinholes and punches were suppressed

Middle Surface

Then the unwanted lines were toggled and split accordingly so that it doesn't affect the flow of the mesh and geometry
Before

After

It is important to capture the depth of the Stamped features so
Before
After

Similarly the other features were edited
MESH GENERATION
First, the surface which were not symmetric is meshed starting from the center so it doesn't affect the connectivity of the mesh between the symmetric and asymmetric surface while reflecting the mesh

Quality Criteria

Here totally 54 element fails for the minimum length, warpage, aspect ratio which couldn't be optimised without affecting the geometry

Then finally thickness is been assigned by creating a property for p-shell with a thickness value of 0.75mm
