Challenge

Project 2

Aim- Meshing of a car floor panel with 2D shell element, assign thickness, property, and material.

Abstract-

It's a sheet metal part of the car floor with 0.75 thickness, here in this challenge we will mesh the component with a 2D shell element with decent mesh flow.

Methodology-

1- Import the model and do geometry cleanup.

2- Extract the mid surface with auto mid option.

3- Check the topology for extracted mid ( defeaturing/toggle off)

4- Remove the feature failing thickness less than 2mm.

5- Mesh the model with the given criteria.

6- Assign material and property(thickness) of components.

Procedure-

Mesh Criteria- Set the quality criteria as per given.

Conclusion-

Mesh generated with quality and property well assigned to the elements.
