Project 2

TITLE: MODELING OF A REAR SUSPENSION OF A VECHICLE

OBJECTIVE: TO MESH A REAR SUSPENSION OF A VECHICLE AND CONNECT THEM USING CONNECTORS.

  • Firstly the model is checked part by part and then single part is taken for geometry check.

  • Then I started the model from right to left i.e from tire.
  • For Tyre component tetra mesh is to be done so that quality perameters are assigned.

  • Mesh is done in 2D using trias and ortho trais. Then the mesh is coverted into tera using rapid tera mesh option.

  • Similarly others parts expect the parts that are thickness less then 6mm are to be mesh using mix elements by extracting mid surface.

  • Now its turn for the patrs less then 6mm.

  • After complete meshing the model look like this.

  • Now After meshing I move for connections.
  • In this model different connections are used in place of bolts RB2 connections are used.
  • In place of welds,Spot and seam line welds are used.

  • Now translate option is used to copy the symmetry part and complete the model.

CONCLUSION:

  • In this model tetra meshing is done to maximum parts of the rear suspension.
  • Some parts are meshed in mixed quality 2D mesh.
  • Spot line weld, spot weld and RB2 cluster as well as two noded RB2 is used to connect diffrent parts of the model.
  • Quality is achived and there is no off element in the mode.
