Test Plan for Blackbox Testing of Mobile Phone Features
Introduction
This document outlines a test plan for blackbox testing of a mobile phone based on the provided user stories (US). The focus of this test plan is to validate that the phone’s features function as expected from the end-user perspective without examining internal implementation details.
Test Objectives
Verify that each feature meets the functional requirements.
Ensure the user interface (UI) behaves as intended and is responsive.
Validate usability and adherence to user expectations.
Identify any deviations or defects before User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
Scope
This test plan covers the functional and UI testing of the following:
Power button functionality.
Display and positioning of app icons.
Specific behavior of the “Call the phone” and “Dictionary” icons.
Font style and size requirements.
Touch responsiveness.
Absence of hard buttons.
Test Approach
Blackbox testing will be conducted by:
Mapping test cases to user stories.
Designing test scenarios based on user actions.
Executing the tests manually and documenting results.
Logging defects and retesting resolved issues.
Test Environment
Hardware: Prototype mobile phone.
Software: Latest development version of the phone’s operating system.
Tools: Stopwatch (for performance testing), manual observation for UI and functional testing.
Assumptions: The prototype is free of hardware defects and ready for testing.
Test Cases
US-1: Long press the power button to switch on the phone.
Test Case ID: TC-US-1
Preconditions: Phone is powered off.
Steps:
Long press the power button for 3-5 seconds.
Observe the screen.
Expected Result: The phone switches on, and the company logo is displayed at the center of the screen.
