Test Plan: Blackbox Testing for New Mobile Phone Features

1. Introduction:

- This test plan outlines the blackbox testing approach for verifying the functionality of a new mobile phone. The product is still under development and has not undergone user acceptance testing (UA) yet.

2. Objective:

- The objective of this test plan is to ensure that the implemented features meet the specified requirements and perform as expected.

3. Scope:

- The scope of this test plan covers the testing of the following user stories:

- US-1 to US-10 as listed in the requirements.

4. Test Environment:

- Hardware: Prototype of the new mobile phone.

- Software: Operating system and applications installed on the prototype.

- Testing Tools: Touchscreen emulator, logging tools for capturing UI interactions.

5. Test Strategy:

- Blackbox testing will be performed to validate the functionality of the new mobile phone features without considering the internal code structure.

- Test cases will be designed based on the requirements outlined in the user stories.

- Testing will focus on functional testing, UI responsiveness, and adherence to specified design guidelines.

6. Test Cases:

US-1: Power On with Company Logo

- Test Case 1.1: Verify that long pressing the power button switches on the phone.

- Test Case 1.2: Check that the company logo is displayed at the center of the screen upon powering on.

US-2: Presence of App Icons

- Test Case 2.1: Ensure all app icons are present in the grid upon powering on the phone.

US-3 to US-6: Bottom Bar Icons Functionality

- Test Case 3.1: Verify that "Call the Phone" icon is the first icon at the bottom bar.

- Test Case 4.1: Check that "Dictionary" icon is the second icon at the bottom bar.

- Test Case 5.1: Click "Call the Phone" icon and confirm all contacts are visible in chronological order.

- Test Case 6.1: Click "Dictionary" icon and ensure a search bar appears for word meanings search.

US-7: Power Off with Goodbye Message

- Test Case 7.1: Long press the power button and verify the phone switches off with a "Goodbye" message.

US-8: Font and Size

- Test Case 8.1: Confirm that the font used in the mobile UI is "Calibri (Body)" and size 12.

US-9: Touch Responsiveness

- Test Case 9.1: Perform various touch gestures on the screen and ensure the UI responds accurately.

US-10: Absence of Hard Buttons

- Test Case 10.1: Physically inspect the mobile phone prototype to confirm the absence of hard buttons.

7. Test Execution:

- Test cases will be executed manually on the prototype device.

- Testers will record observations, any deviations from expected behavior, and any UI responsiveness issues.

8. Defect Management:

- Any defects found during testing will be logged in a defect tracking system.

- Defects will be categorized based on severity and priority for resolution.

9. Test Reporting:

- A detailed test report will be generated after completion of testing, summarizing test results, identified defects, and recommendations for improvement.

10. Conclusion:

- Upon successful completion of testing and resolution of any identified issues, the new mobile phone can proceed to user acceptance testing (UA).
