Project 1 - V&V SW Analysis - I
Aim
Write a Test plan to test features of a new mobile phone (Blackbox test) that needs to be implemented based on the following requirements. (The product is still under development stage and is yet to be UA (User Acceptance ) tested .Every other thing to be included in the test plan can be hypothetical.
Test plan
A Test Plan for software verification and validation is a document that outlines the testing approach, objectives, resources, schedules, and deliverables of a software development project. It serves as a blueprint for testing activities and helps to ensure that the software product meets the required quality standards and functional requirements.
A Test Plan typically includes the following Components:
- Introduction: Background information, purpose, and scope of the Test Plan.
- Test objectives: Defined objectives of the testing activities.
- Test items: List of software components or modules to be tested.
- Test environment: Description of the hardware and software configurations used for testing.
- Test cases: Detailed description of the tests to be performed, including test inputs, expected outputs, and pass/fail criteria.
- Test data: Data to be used for testing, including sample inputs and expected outputs.
- Test schedule: Timeline for testing activities, including start and end dates.
- Test resources: List of personnel, equipment, and tools needed for testing.
- Test deliverables: List of documents and artifacts to be produced during testing, such as test cases, test results, bug reports, and test summary reports.
- Test conclusion: Summary of the testing activities and the results, including any recommendations for improvement.
Other Components of Test plan:
- Scope of testing
- Role and responsibility
- Assumptions
- Risks
- Test methodology
- Entry criteria
- Defect tracking
- Test automation
The Test Plan serves as a guide for testing activities and helps to ensure that all aspects of the software product are tested before it is released to the end-users. It helps to ensure the quality of the software product, avoid defects, and reduce the risk of project failure.
