Project 1 - Loss calculation for a DC/DC converter-MATLAB

1.ans:

 from the previous module:

the given parameters for boost converter are:

Vin = 100 V;

Vout = 200 V;

L = 200uH ;

C = 400uF;

R= 10 Ohms;

rL = 10 mOhms;

rC = 2 mOhms;

 the duty cycle of the system is:vo/vin=1/1-D;

200/100=1/1-D;

thenD=0.5;

i in=iout/i-D=0.5/0.5=1amp;

conduction losses:

pcon=i in^2*Rds*D;

i=p/v;

1000/100=10 amps;

p=v^2/R=100*100/10=1kw;

then pcon=10*10*0.023*0.5=1.15w;

losses in diode:

pf=(1-d)(rd*i^2+iin*vf)

vf=1.2v;rd=1ohm;

then,

pf =1-0.5*(1*1*1+10*1.2);

pf=6.5watts;

loss in inductor:

p ind:

pind=r*l*i in*i in+rl/12(d*vin/fl)^2;

p ind=10*10^-6*1+10*10^-6/12(0.5*100/50*200)=10^-5+8.3*10^-7(5*10^-6)

p ind=0.0000014w;

capacitor losses:

pcap=rc*D(1-D)*i in*i in+rc/12(1-D)*(D*vin/l*f)=2*10^-6*0.5(1-0.5)*1+2*10^-6/12(1-0.5)*(0.5*100/200*50*10^-3)

p cap=5*10^-7+8.33*10^-8*2.5*10^-6=0.00000058w

ptotal= pmos+pdiode+pind+pcap=0.0115+6.5+0.0000014w+0.00000058w=6.5115watts;

efficiency=pout/pin

pin=1000watt

pout=vo*io;=vo*vo/r=4000watt;

efficiency=1000-6.5115/1000=0.9934=99.34%

for the schematic  we need to observe voltages with and without feedback

 from the above we can observe the feedback gain in voltage
