English Dictionary App and Library Book Management System
Developing an English Dictionary App and Library Book Management System is the main aim of this project
English Dictionary App
English dictionary app is a collection of all english words along with their meaning. The aim of this project is to develop an english dictionary app using python. This app can be used to find the meaning of a word by getting input from the user, to update the meaning of an existing word in the dictionary and to add a new word to the dictionary.
This can be done by following the steps below:
1. Creating a new dictionary
2. Creating a main function to read the create a menu to perform the above mentioned tasks
3. Using a while loop to select the options of the menu to perform the tasks.
4. Create a new function to add a new word. Get the input of the word and its meaning and update it in the dictionary and then use json to update it in the text file.
5. Create a new function to find the meaning of a word. Get the input of the word. To display its meaning, first read the data from text file and then display its corresponding meeting. If the word is not found display the respective message
6. Create a new function to update the meaning an already exising word. Get the input of the word and search for the word in the text file. If the word is not in the dictionary, display an error message. Now get another input from the user asking for the updated meaning of the word and update it in the dictionary and in the text file. Also displayed a message to show that the meaning of the word has been updated.
Library Book Management App
A library management system is software that is designed to manage all the functions of a library. It helps librarian to maintain the database of new books and the books that are borrowed by members. This app is developed using python. Library Book Management System will be implemented with the front end GUI developed using Tkinter and the backend database implemented in SQLite. It is a single window tkinter GUI application which will implement CRUD( create, read, update, delete) operations on a ‘books’ database, in SQLite. The window will contain text widgets to accept / display book title, author, year of publication, ISBN (optional) and a large text area/ list box to display the records which match the search criteria.
