Project 1 - Analyzing the Education trends in Tamilnadu
1. Lack of Role Models: The scarcity of visible female role models in STEM can be a significant barrier for aspiring women. Without relatable figures to look up to, women may struggle to envision themselves suceeding in STEM fields. Additionally, the lack of representation reinforces the perception that women are not welcome or valued in these profession.
2. Work Environment and Culture: The culture and work Environment in STEM fields can be unwelcoming or hostile to women. Male- dominated work places may have ingrained biases, lack of inclusivity, and even instances of harassment, making it difficult for women to thrive or feel comfortable in their roles. A negative work culture can lead to higher attrition rates among women in STEM careers.
3. Work-Life Balance and Family Responsibility: Balancing family responsibilities and demanding careers can pose unique challenges for women in STEM. The long hours, inflexible work schedules, and limited maternity leave options can make it difficult for women to pursue and sustain STEM careers. These challenges often lead to women opting for career breaks or choosing fields with greater work-life balance, contributing to the gender gap.
