Project 1 - Analyzing the Education trends in Tamilnadu
The possible reasons for Gender gap in STEM jobs like
Gender stereotypes:
The perception that engineering is a "male-dominated" field can discourage girls from pursuing it, leading to a belief that they might not fit in or be successful.
Workplace challenges:
Work-life balance: Engineering often demands long hours and flexibility, which can be difficult for women balancing family responsibilities.
Lack of female role models:
Without visible female engineers to look up to, girls may not see engineering as a career path for themselves sometimes and just diverts to other options available.
Educational environment:
Gender bias in STEM education, including teachers' expectations and curriculum, can influence girls' interest in engineering.
Other problems like Women in engineering may face gender-based discrimination, harassment, and microaggressions in the workplace.
Unequal pay: Gender pay gap in engineering can discourage women from entering or staying in the field, etc.
