· Ensure the design adheres to relevant structural standards and safety factors.
Step 4: Design Stilt Parking Facility
· Plan the stilt parking area, optimizing for maximum vehicle capacity while ensuring easy entry and exit routes.
· Ensure that parking spaces and driveways meet local regulations and provide adequate clearance for vehicles.
· Model structural reinforcements as needed for the stilt floor to support the floors above.
Step 5: Integrate Building Information Modeling (BIM)
· Use BIM software to combine architectural, structural, elements into a single model.
· Model essential systems ensuring that they fit within the structural framework and comply with design requirements.
· Conduct clash detection to identify and resolve any conflicts between trades.
Step 6: Perform Structural Analysis
· Conduct a detailed structural analysis of the model using structural analysis software to ensure stability and safety.
· Analyze the building’s response to various loads, including potential seismic or wind forces, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
· Modify the model as needed to improve structural performance.
Step 7: Extract Quantities and Prepare BOQ
· Use the BIM model to extract quantities of materials required for construction, such as concrete, steel, bricks, and finishes.
· Prepare a Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for different trades.
· Calculate cost estimates for each trade based on current market rates for materials and labor.
Step 8: Generate Trade-Specific Floor Layouts
· Create individual floor plans for each trade, including structural, to guide specific construction tasks.
· Generate a consolidated layout that shows all trades in one plan, to provide a comprehensive view for project coordination.
· Review and verify that each layout meets regulatory and project requirements.
Step 9: Produce 3D Views and Visualizations
· Generate 3D interior views for different rooms (living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens) to show design aesthetics and space functionality.
· Create exterior 3D views to showcase the overall appearance of the building, including parking, entryways, and landscaping.
· Use rendering software to produce high-quality visualizations for presentation and client review.
Step 10: Review and Finalize Documentation
· Compile all project documents, including BOQ, cost estimates, detailed layouts, and 3D renders, into a single presentation or report.
· Conduct a final review to ensure accuracy and compliance with design standards.
NEED OF THE PROJECT
1. Increasing Housing Demand
With urbanization on the rise, cities face a growing need for residential spaces to accommodate the influx of people. This apartment project addresses this demand by providing a multi-storey residential complex with 3 BHK units, offering suitable housing options for families of different sizes.
2. Efficient Use of Space
Land availability is limited, especially in urban areas. By designing a 7-storey building with stilt parking, the project makes optimal use of vertical space, maximizing the number of housing units on a small footprint. This helps in effectively utilizing the available land and reducing the per-unit land cost.
3. Enhanced Community Living
Apartment complexes foster a sense of community by bringing multiple families into one space with shared amenities. The design of this building includes common areas like parking, corridors, and lifts, which facilitate social interaction and create a secure environment for residents.
4. Modern and Sustainable Living Standards
The project incorporates modern architectural and structural elements to provide a safe, efficient, and comfortable living environment. Additionally, through energy-efficient designs and sustainable construction practices, the project aims to reduce environmental impact and create a sustainable living space.
5. Improved Safety and Convenience
By following building codes and integrating advanced structural designs, the project prioritizes the safety and stability of the building, especially in areas prone to seismic activity. Stilt parking adds convenience for residents by providing a secure parking solution, essential for urban living.
6. Economic and Social Development
Residential construction projects like this apartment complex contribute to economic growth by creating jobs, boosting local industries, and increasing the availability of affordable housing. This, in turn, supports the social development of the area by enhancing infrastructure and improving the quality of life for residents.
7. Enhanced Visual Appeal and Value
The project’s focus on 3D visualization and high-quality design not only aims to improve aesthetic appeal but also adds value to the property, making it more attractive to potential buyers or renters. This helps to ensure that the apartment complex becomes a desirable and valuable asset in the real estate market.
RESULT
1. Comprehensive Building Model Created
A detailed 3D model of the apartment complex was successfully created, integrating architectural, structural, components. This model represents a realistic and functional seven-storey residential building with 4 units per floor and a stilt parking facility, meeting the specified design requirements.
2. Accurate BOQ and Cost Estimates Generated
A complete Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and cost estimates for various trades were produced based on the model. These estimates provide an accurate calculation of material quantities and associated costs for each trade, ensuring effective budget planning and resource allocation.
3. Trade-Specific and Combined Layouts Developed
Floor layouts for each individual trade (structural) were generated, along with a combined layout showing all trades. These layouts offer clear guidance for construction activities and help ensure smooth coordination between trades, reducing the risk of conflicts during construction.
4. 3D Visualizations Rendered
High-quality 3D views of the building were rendered from various interior and exterior angles. These visualizations help stakeholders understand the spatial arrangement, aesthetics, and functionality of both individual apartments and common areas, making the design more tangible and appealing.
5. Structural Stability and Safety Validated
Structural analysis confirmed that the building design is stable and meets safety requirements, including compliance with seismic and wind load standards. This ensures that the building is structurally sound and can withstand environmental forces, enhancing resident safety.
6. Enhanced Presentation for Stakeholders
All documentation, including BOQ, layouts, and 3D visualizations, was compiled into a cohesive report and presentation. This allows for a comprehensive overview of the project, facilitating easier decision-making and approval from clients and stakeholders.
