E-commerce Platform Analysis and User Behavior Study
E-commerce Platform Analysis and User Behavior Study
Introduction
The goal of this project is to analyze an e-commerce platform's user database and gain insights into user behaviour, preferences, and platform usage. We will perform various data analysis tasks using MySQL to extract valuable information from the dataset.
Data Import and Database Setup
Create a new schema named "e-commerce" in MySQL.
Import the provided CSV file, "users_data.csv," into the "e-commerce" schema using the Table Data Import Wizard in MySQL Workbench.
Database Structure
Run an SQL command to view the structure of the "users_data" table in the "e-commerce" schema.
Data Exploration
Run an SQL command to select the first 100 rows of the database and examine the data.
Distinct Values
Determine the number of distinct values for the "country" and "language" fields in the table.
Buyers Analysis
Calculate the total number of buyers for each country and sort the results in descending order of the total number of buyers. Consider only users who have bought at least one product.
Sellers Analysis
Calculate the total number of sellers for each country and sort the results in ascending order of the total number of sellers. Consider only users who have sold at least one product.
Product Pass Rate
Display the names of the top 10 countries with the maximum product pass rate.
User Language Analysis
Calculate the number of users on the e-commerce platform for different language choices.
Female User Choices
Analyze the choice of female users regarding adding products to a wishlist or socially liking them on the e-commerce platform. Use UNION to answer this question.
Male User Choices
Analyze the choice of male users regarding being a seller or buyer on the e-commerce platform. Use UNION to solve this question.
Maximum Number of Buyers
Identify the country with the maximum number of buyers.
Countries with Zero Sellers
List the names of 10 countries with zero sellers on the e-commerce platform.
Recent User Activity
Display the records of the top 110 users who have recently used the e-commerce platform.
Inactive Female Users
Calculate the number of female users who have not logged in for the past 100 days.
User Statistics by Country
Display the number of female users for each country on the e-commerce platform.
Display the number of male users for each country on the e-commerce platform.
Average Products Sold and Bought
Calculate the average number of products sold and bought by male users for each country on the e-commerce platform.
Conclusion
The project "E-commerce Platform Analysis and User Behavior Study" involved analyzing a user database of an e-commerce platform to gain insights into user behaviour and platform usage. The analysis included examining user profiles, platform usage, buyer and seller activities, product pass rates, language preferences, and user choices. Key findings revealed patterns in user engagement, preferences, and user activity. The project provides valuable insights for understanding user behaviour and making informed decisions to improve the e-commerce platform.
