Project 1
Aim:
To extract the middle surface and mesh the given component with ansa 19.1.5 as per the given quality criteria, by assigning the thickness.
Procedure:
Import the model ipsubstrate.igs into the ansa topo tab

check for the topological errors, red lines indicates free edges, cyan lines indicates triple cons
use the geom clean option to remove the unwanted hot points, the delete option can also be used inorder to removet the unwanted hot points.

perform the topology opertion where the single cons are shown, except the edges.
check for overlapping faces, unattached faces and minnor hole as it is a part of the topology clean up procedure.
now extract the middle surface manually by faces-> offset and enter the offset value

as the component consisits of parts with varing thickness mannual offset has to be done seperatly for each section.
do it for all the surfaces, as it can be done by selecting the surface on a whole.
after extracting the surface assign the surface to different lock views, by store lock option.

it helps to uncomplecate the surfaces and its properties.
go to the mesh tab and start the meshing by selecting the surfaces.
the selected surfaces are meshed in mesh generation-> best mesh
the batch mesh option under the mesh generation can also be used as it result in better mesh flow.

if the flow of the mesh is distorted then the reconstruct option is used from the shellmesh block

then the perimeter mesh points are adjusted as required from option perimeters from the perimeters block
the mesh is adjusted as required using the options provide from the options lists in ansa.
once the mesh is done, the quality of the meshed is rechecked and corrected mannualy or automatically by using the fix option under the error list.
the shadow mode shows failing elements with different color indications, as all are rectified with suitable commands.
later the thickness is assigned for each section under the SET PID option.

Result:
Thus the given model is meshed as per the quality crietria and assigned property by adding thickness to it.
