                                      DESIGN AND ASSEMBLY OF AMERICAN CHOPPER

AIM & OBJECTIVE:-

• To learn the solidworks interface and simultaneously sketch or model the parts of American Chopper,apply appearance and materials.
• Do assembly of parts to get the chopper.

INTRODUCTION OF SOLIDWORKS:-

Solidwork is a mechanical 3DCAD software used to create 2D and3D models.It also helps to design products better ,faster and cost effectively.

TOOLS USED IN MODELING CHOPPER.

• PLANE : Section view of the model is to be sketched.
• SKETCH : Work base to create 2D and 3D sketches.
• SMART DIMENSION : To provide the dimension value
• FILLET CHAMFER : it gives round shapes at corners edges.
• CONVERT ENTITIES : same plane with same dimension.
• OFFSET : it adds 3D sketches on face.
• SHELL : the shell tool hollows out a part.
• EXTRUDE BOSS/BASE : to get a solid body in one or two directions.
• REVOLVED BOSS/BASE : used to revolve the sketch.
• EXTRUDE CUT : used to cut materials from body.
• SWEPT BOSS/BASE : ot proved a solid body by closed profile along an open and closed path.
• PATTERN : it features the object in a particular direction or path.
• PROJECTED CURVE : it combines two 2D continuous curves into a 3D curve.
• TRIM : itis used to cut extra lines.
• APPEARANCE : this can get a different look. 
• DECALS : this tool painted stickers to be applied.
• VIEW(HEADS -UP) : zoom to fit,zoom to area section view etc....

CHASSIS:-

Chassis is the backbone of the vehicle.It is structural unit that bears all the load of the vehicle body,ridder and the payload applied to it.

                                                    

CHAIN:-

Chain drive is a way of transmitting mechanical power from one sprocket to another.

                                         

FORK:-

It holds front wheel.Forks are made of four different materials : steel,aluminium titanium,and carbon fiber.

                                            

FENDER:-

The fender is the frame installed over the wheel,it also prevents water and mud spray.

GAS TANK:-

It acts as a reservoir tank.

                                             

OIL TANK:-

It is also a reservoir tank .It contains flammable fuel safely.

                                                       

WHEEL:-

A tyre is a strong,flexible rubber casing attached to the rim of a wheel

              

STAND:-

It is made up of strong materials,located in the lower portion of the chassis.It is used to provide support to the whole body.

                                           

TRANSMISSION BELT:-

It is made up of flexible rubber material.It transmits power from one shaft to another.

                                                  

ASSEMBLY:-

In the assembly part all individuals parts inserted into assembly tools of solidworks.Fix one of the components into the work base.Proved mates and relation reaming part to the fixed one with respect to lines,vertex and planes.

                     

RENDERING:-

It is very important part because of different materials ,colors,etc to be applied to assembly one.

CONCLUSION:-

At the end of the assembly and rendering ,i could earn good knowledge and experience in solidworks.

This project helps to experience and learn a lot bout the design field.
