Introduction to REVIT concepts
Aim : 1) From the file menu, create a new project (Structural / Architectural / Construction template ) and name the project appropriately
Procedure : 1. Open the Revit Software
2. Go to file menu, Select the new project, Select the template file as Architecture Template
3. And Press OK.
Aim : 2) Save the new project file. Close and open using icons from file toolbar
Procedure : 1. Go to File menu
2. Select new project
3. Save the project in your selected file and name it
Aim : 3) From the architecture/ structure toolbar familiarize with options to draw a wall. Create a rectangular layout of walls of about 40’-0” X 35’-0”
Procedure : Select the 'Wall' Option
2. Using the Line Command Create a wall of 40' X 35'
3. The wall of given dimensions is created.
Aim : 4) From the Annotate toolbar use the aligned option to add dimensions to the layout
Procedure : Go to Annotate tool.
2. Now select the Aligned tool to add the dimension to the given Layout.
Aim : 5) Use the properties browser to switch to different wall types
Procedure : 1. Use the 'PP' Key which is the short form for the Properties browser.
2. Select a wall and then go to the properties browser and then select the wall which you want.
Aim : 6) Create a 3D view from the view toolbar and save the view with the appropriate name
Procedure : After adding the dimensions to the given wall select a 3D view for the wall By selecting the 'view' Option.
Aim : Navigate through the 3D Model
Procedure : By using the view cube. navigate through the 3D model by selection and rotating the view cube.
Aim : Visibility Setting
Procedure : Go to the Visibility Setting and select the View such as wireframe, shaded, hidden etc
Aim : Sun Path
Procedure : After creating a 3D View Select the sun path on and then off for the 3D View.
Aim : Manage Tool Bar
Procedure : 1. Go to the Manage Tool Bar an then Select the Project Information
2. Select Project Name as 'Skill-Lync'
3. Select Project Status as 'Active'
4. Project Date as 04-07-22
Aim : Analyze Tool Bar
Procedure : 1. We can edit load cases
2. We can load combinations here.
3. Progress of reports can be achieved.
4. It contains tools which can adjust the analytical model, check for consistency
5. It is used to create saperator.
Aim : Links that Revit supports
Procedure :
Link CAD - It allows to link CAD file to create 3D using revit.
Link REVIT - It allows to link another revit module to the current module
Link IFC - It allows to link another IFC file as a reference where we have to perform additional Design work in Revit.
Link Topography - We can link existing topography to current module.
Aim : Why do you need the Collaborate tab in Revit? How it supports modeling and its efficiency
Procedure : It helps the team member to work on a single project
2. We can Link Multiple revit model
3. Work can be done faster
4. Efficiency of work is more.
Conclusion : The snaps relate to the above Questions are attached Below. And in such a particular process the above given project is completed
