ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

I want to thank my project coordinator for his patience and assistance during the training period. Thanks to his guidance, I was able to develop my skill to convert a plastic component into solid and learn about the responsibilities and time management skill that helped me to increase my concentration level and patience to complete my responsibilities. The skills would me to expand my resume and advance my career.

ABOUT SKILL-LYNC

Skill Lync is an e-learning company focused on providing mechanical engineering courses. Leveraging technology, the firm equips students with the technical skill set they require, to start and succeed in their respective career paths. Skill Lync was founded in 2015 and is based in Chennai, India. I felt that their mission was compatible with my world view and my future career goals, which is the reason I applied for an internship position with them.

Component

  • Automobile Part: bike
  • Material: Fibre Plastic
  • of Tooling: One

MY POSSITION AND MY RESPONSIBILITIES

I joined Skill-Lync for the Internship program in the capacity of a CAD designer.
I was provided a surface with a parent part and I have to make it as a solid component which was a plastic component. I have to do tooling axis, B-surface, C-surface, Flanges for the joining and the core, cavity. And I have to see all the thigs like if it is manufacturable or not and Proper draft angles with Propper tooling axis.

PROBLEM STATEMENTS

  • Very minimal gaps were there, so that I have to find one by one but after filling all the gaps I faced an issue with the gap which I couldn’t find firstly.
  • Next, I faced trimming problem for the gap B-surface.
  • The same problem, trimming but some other king of and for another Gap.

PROBLEM STATEMENTAS

  • Last trimming problem I faced.

PROBLEM STATEMENTAS

  • After that I faced in the fillet applied.

PROBLEM STATEMENT

  • Next, I faced a problem in making of C-surface while I was trying to do fill.

MY EXPERIENCE

As an intern I have a great experience with Skill-Lync. I was provided the following tasks-

  • A-Surface modify (gaps, Sharp corners etc.).
  • Tooling axis creation.
  • B-surface creation.
  • C-Surface creation.
  • Flanges Should be created For the mounting.
  • Core, Cavity Creation.
  • Draft analysis with Propper tooling axis.

As a input the A surface and parent part was provided. And the project coordinator is very much helpful, so that I am thankful to him very much.

CONCLUSION

From the internship from Skill-Lync I was able to get better understanding for how to do modify and create A-surface and conversion of solid model.
But when I was doing my project, I found that the A surface should be modified. In the images there is some places where the draft angle is not Propper. So, the draft angles should be modified for the model.

Overall, I found the internship experience to be positive, and I am sure I would able to use the skills I learned in my career later.
