Challenge

Internal Geneva Mechanism

Report:

  1. Using the 2D drawings provided for the challange the 3D/Cad model of the parts were created.
  2. Than the two created parts namely deiver and driven were assembled with providing the appropiate mates.
  3. Followed by the above tasks we moved on to motion study section to assign the motor with a value of 10rpm to the driving wheel and providing the proper contact set to both of the wheels.
  4. After assigning the all the required parametrs we hit the calulate button for the calculations to be simulated for the provided time period.
  5. Then we go to the Resulta and Plot section in the motion study to get the contact force and the Angular displacement variation awith the time.
  6. Once the graphs are obtained we need to save it by copying it in the clipboard and adding it to excel sheet.
  7. Than after navigating through the Precise contact option and changing the number of frames as 60 frames for 10Rpm and getting all the results and plots we change the Rpm to 120 and frames to 120 aswell and obtaion the results and compait the both in the excel sheet.

So now we will see the CAD models of the provided 2D drawings:

The link for 10rpm @ 20fpm

The video link for 10Rpm@60fpm

The video link for 20Rpm@120fpm

The graph for contact force for 10rpm@60FPM

The graph for angular displacement of Driven wheel for 10RPM@60FPM

The remaining graphs are in the excel sheet

I have also attached the excel sheet which has the comparison of the results or plots obtained from the three setups.

The excel also contains some of my doubts.
