EXCEL CALCULATOR TO ESTIMATES THE TEMPERATURE DISTRIBUTION INSIDE A CYCLINDRICAL BATTERY PACK
The estimation of the temperature inside a battery pack requires accurate and precise information about the cooling condition and various parameters when the battery surface temperature is measured.
CYCLINDRICAL COORDINATES:
By using Fourier's law, the heat is directly proportional with respect to time so the heat rate changes.

T1 (X) = K1X + K2

Y = mx + c
K1 = Tr - Tc / l
ENERGY BALANCE EQUATION
Assue steady and no generation, 1D laplace's eqution
d^2T/dx^2 = 0, T(x), function of x coordinate alone
Note: Ordinary differential operator is used since T=T(x) only
The general solution of this equation can be determined by integting twice:
First integration leads to dT/dx= constant t=C1.
Integrate again T(x)= C1x + C2
Second order differential equation: need two boundry conditions to determine the constant C1 and C2.

ANALYTICAL CALCULATION
By using govering equation we can calculate,
Tr + Tl + Tt + Tb / 4
where,
Tr- right
Tl- left
Tt- top
Tb- bottom
Assume Tr=500K , Tl=500K , Tt=500K , Tb= 500K
by using EXCEL CFD CALCULATOR;
