Front View Geometry and Roll Center Height 1

Given:

track = 1600mm

wheel radius = 300mm

procedure:

  • For instant center, we have been provided with hardpoints of joints of control arms making lines that intersect each other giving us instant center.
  • We can find the point where both control arms lines intersect each other by employing the linear interpolation technique. The equation is Z = Z1 + ((Z2-Z1)/(Y2-Y1)) * (Y-Y1)
  • The instant center location is Y = -850.992 mm and Z = 239.1127 mm
  • We can find the roll center in a similar way with the line forming with the instant canter, tire center, and roll center.
  • The roll center location is Y = 800 mm which is half of the track width and Z = -224.785 mm.
