Frequency Analysis of a rotating shaft
Aim:-
This challenge is to model the given rotating shaft and perform the frequency analysis of this model by applying apropriate constrains.
Introduction:-
The frequency analysis is very importanat part of finite element analysis. this is done on componenet to find out the frequencies at which it gets damaged. The challange includes the creating a model of rotating shaft and analyse by using frequency analysis. Frequency response analysis in Finite Element Analysis is used to calculate the steady-state response due to a sinusoidal load applied to a structure at a single frequency. It is a specialized type of transient response analysis that is extremely efficient to solve a very specific type of model.
Theory:-
The natural frequencies and corresponding mode shapes depend on the geometry, material properties, and support conditions. The computation of natural frequencies and mode shapes is known as modal, frequency, and normal mode analysis. A real model has an infinite number of natural frequencies. thereby, a finite element model has a finite number of natural frequencies that is equal to the number of degrees of freedom considered in the model.
Design:-
The model of rotating shaft with proper dimensions is created in solidworks and the model is ready for frequency analysis.
The Bearing supports is appied to both steped ends of rotating shaft. The meshing is done with appropriate element size and the simulation is run for getting results.
Result:-
The result of frequency analysis is shown in following plots. The different 5 Amplitude values are getting with different conditions. The Amplitude of 0.285 ampres,0.177ampres,0.404ampres are shown as a result.
