Finite Element Analysis of buckling phenomena in the cyclone separator stand Using SOLIDWORKS
Objective:
Analysis of buckling phenomena in the cyclone separator stand. With stiffener and Without stiffener.
comparison of both result.
Introduction:
Here I have one model of the cyclone separator. In which I will analyze the buckling of stand by applying a constant load of 150 KN at the top surface of a stand.
Model of cyclone separator,
Here I am taking material Alloy steel.
the body is treated as solid. The load applied on the top surface of the stand and bottom of the stand is fixed.

Procedure:
Case 1:
First of all, we have to exclude the cyclone separator from the body and take the stand only in the analysis.
First, we have to analysis only stand without stiffener. Apply the boundary condition to the stand, create the mesh and start the analysis.

Case 2:
Here I added the additional stiffener in the stand which supports the prevents the buckling as well as bending.
Here first I run the basic simulation In which I put the stiffener at the 1000mm from the top of the stand.
The total height of the legs of the stand is 2000mm.
start the simulation define the boundary condition, material and Create the mesh. Then run the simulation.

Conclusion :
When I added the stiffener into the base its buckling factor of safety is increases from 9.3669 to 25.74, that shows us that if we apply the 25 times more force then it will fail under the operation. ultimately we can say that stiffener is providing the additional strength to the base. and by doing the design study I found the optimistic location for the stiffener it should at the 1000 mm from the top.
