Fender Design - Wheel Arch Challenge

Wheel Arch:

wheel arch is the semi-circular part positioned above the wheel of a vehicle. while designing arch it should be in mind that wheel should be inside the fender. if not it may causes harm to pedesterians & it may damage car parts also.

Regulation Of Wheel Arch:

the regulations are decided with respect to the road conditions.mainly there are three different regulations,

1) Japan Regulation

in japan regulation t1) Japan Regulationhe value of clearance between a car vehicle and fender should be morethan or eqaul to 5 mm.if clearance is not morethan 5 mm then vehicle will fail under japan regulation.

the clearance is measured at 30* counter clock wise and 50* clockwise direction

2) Europian Regulation

here the clearance should be more then 10 mm. Points where to check for clearance are 30*,50* a point at a distance of 150mm from the horizontal reference. one more point is added in between these two points.

3) US regulation

in US regulation the clearance should be greater than 5mm, the points to measure are at every 10* from horizontal reference.

For the challenge part i have made the europian regulation and snap shots of measurements are taken.

1) Point A - Clearance- 10mm

2) Point B - Clearance- 9.9490mm

3) Point C - Clearance- 0.1139mm

4) Point D - Clearance- 2.8875mm

5) Point E - Clearance- 5.9973mm

Concusion :

As per the european regulation requirements the clearance at given points should be minimum 10mm,only one point has 10 mm clearance and other points have lesserthan 10mm values so the vehicle will not pass the standards. the design of fender needs to modify.
