Front Fender Design
Fender:
The wheel covers were given a name which reflected their purpose rather than the way they looked and so the piece of metal which guards the vehicle body from flying debris from road is called as "Fender".
Fender is one of the styling component which is exposed outside and so cannot be welded. Most of assembling the fenders will be done by fasteners, retainer clips and proper fitting.
The fender which covers front wheels are called as "Front Fenders" and which covers rear wheels are called as "Rear Fenders".
Types of Front Fender:
- Full bumper type
- Half bumper type
Fender mounting areas:
- A-Pillar
- Bumper
- Drip Area
- Sill
- Body
- Baffle
Given Mater Section:
Objective:
To design the drip area, bumper mounting area, sill mount area, A-pillar mount region and baffle mounting regions for the given fender skin.
Fender design:
- A-Pillar mounting region
- Bumper mounting region
- Drip area
- Sill mounting region
- Body mounting region
- Baffle mounting region
Thus with the given fender skin surface, the various mounting regions are designed to mount the fender with the car body.
