FENDER DESIGN

Aim:

To Design the Front Fender Mounting using Engineering Standard in NX CAD

Introduction:

• Fender is a part of car its mount in Front and Rear Wheel side.
• It protects wheel and keeps mud, dirt water etc.
• A fender is sheet metal on the body of a car, which is fastened by screws to the metal body.

Types of Fender:

There are two types of fender,

1. Full Fender type

2. Half Fender Type

1. Full Fender Type:

• A full fender means they will be covering more area around the wheel.
• The main advantage is increase coverage and protecting wheel.

2. Half Fender Type:

• The half fender its cover only Half portion of the wheel.
• Most of the Modern-Day Vehicle comes with Half fender.

Mounting:

There are five mounting points in a fender,

1. Body

2. A Pillar

3. Sill

4. Cowl

5. Drip

Fender Master Section Parameters:

1. Drip Mounting:

• Drip Area is the main part of which need to follow given parameters.
• Its Mounting in Engine Compartment.
• While Design the drip area need to make offset curves and area to create the curve line using curves on surface and remove unwanted area.
• Creating mounting areas using the law Extension by given parameters.
• Creating Emboss and holes and edgebend for the drip area and support by draft.

2. A-Pillar Mounting:

• Using a Curves on surface to create the area for A-Pillar.
• Removing unwanted area, sketch to create the holes and emboss and draft and edgebend.
• Sharp corners to remove with bridge curves to remove the edges.

3. Sill Mounting:

• Using sketch to create the datum point to draw the line and holes commands.
• And using emboss and edge bend and face bend

4. Bumper Mounting:

• Curves on surface to sketch the area and remove unwanted area.
• Make the holes and emboss.

Conclusion:

Here the fender design has been completed with the given Master sketch parameters created the Drip mounting, A-pillar, Sill, Bumper,Splash Mounting.
