REPORT:

FENDER:

fender is the front outer side of a car which covers the wheel side . the main purpouse of a fender is to prevent sand ,mud, liquides ands rocks getting inside the car .fenders also wrok as , the covering area for the engine compartment . the major rol of the fender is to avoid the chipping inside the engine compartment. the fenders have a plastic region mount to it in wheel arc area. fenders also avoides the problems while hiiiting a pedetrian .

TYPES OF FENDERS:

1. FULL BUMPER TYPE

2. HALF BUMBER TYPE

FULL BUMBER TYPES:

Full bumper types are not much used in now a days becouse of the bigger size which has to be produced . it alos leads to large scrap.

HALF BUMPER TYPE:

Half bumber types are most commonly used fenders in the present market. it has less blank size and the wastage and the scrap is also less

AREAS CONSIDERED WHILE DESINGING A FENDER

1. DRIP AREA

2. BUMPER MOUNTING AREA

3. SILL MOUNTING AREA

4.A PILLER MOUNTING AREA

DRIP AREA:

The drip area is designed as per the given master section. there are some design consideration has to be followed. the drip area should be at a distance of 150 mm apart from the headlamp area and 200mm apart from the rear end . after that an angle of 3deg is given for the drip area, so that the engine compartment wont be visible from ouside. the total dept of the drip area is 40mm. embosses are created to strengthen the drip area. and the corners are smoothend . proper holes are given to mount the drip area to engine compartment

A-PILLER AREA:

IT is mounted on the A-piller , the a piller was created by having a sweep of 90deg. at the length of 20mm. and for strenthening the A piller mounting embosses are given . and for the mounting prosess proper holes are given . the corners are smoothned . edge fillets of 2mm are given.

SILL MOUNTING AREA:

sill mountig area is created in the bottom side of the fender where it is connected to door . for the creation a sweep is made with reference with the surface of 85deg is given. after the creation of the sweep the surface is extracted and offseted to 2mm . and a sketch is drawen to sreate the emboses. after the skect is done i had given sweep of 5deg. and trimed it with the offseted surface. hales are given for the mounting process. edge fillet of 2mm is given and the sharp corners are smoothened

BAFFLE MOUNTING AREA

ballfle mounting area is created in he wheel arch area of the fender. where the plastic reging is mounted. it is dreated by giving a sweep of 90deg. from the reference surfeace . holes are given for the mounting process. and the corners are smoothend

Here the desing of fender is compeleted by following the desing rules and master section.
