Fender Design
Report
Fender - is the side panels of vehicle to restrict the chipping happening inside the engine compartment from sand, debris or any foreign material from rotating wheel. Fender also give good asthetic look to the vehicle and increases aerodynamic ability. Fender is designed as per "The Wheel Arch Regulation" of different from different reigions such as U.S., European, Japan etc. all the mounting such as drip, baffle, A- pillar, bumper and sill their positions need to design considering these regulation.
Drip Mounting - it is a mounting which is designed bolt the fender to main chassis and also houses other components onto it. The position of drip mounting is 200-250mm away from A- pillar and 150mm away from front of fender.
A-Pillar mounting - this mounting is designed to bolt the fender with A-pillar. It is designed in such as way that both parts should follow the same curve of vehicle to maintain its asthetic look of vehicle.
Baffle mounting - it is a plastic panel (cover) which is bolted inside fender and above the wheel, it protect all the debris, splash of water etc going inside engine compartment.
In below image presentation of fender with all mounting.

In below image draft analysis is perfromed on fender.

In below pictures draft analysis are performed on each mounting.
